Low-impact, high-value: a new kind of salt project for North Queensland

We’re working closely with local stakeholders and government authorities to access highly saline brine from selected areas of the lower coastal Burdekin aquifer system. This brine will produce a premium salt and associated high-value products for domestic and global markets.

Our community, industry and government partners are essential to our success.

We believe in building strong, mutually beneficial relationships that create lasting value.

Our collaborative approach to brine extraction and salt production aims to minimise environmental harm, better manage risk, bring systems thinking to life and drive value-based solutions.

How we're different
and why it matters

Here’s what’s positive about our approach:

  • No evaporation ponds: We don’t rely on vast acres of solar ponds, which means we require far less land and can avoid major landscape disruption.

  • No waste runoff: Our closed-loop system is designed for zero-waste, with careful brine management and freshwater production built in.

  • No mining machinery: We use water bores and processing sheds as opposed to trucks or heavy equipment, resulting in lower emissions, noise and impact on the land.

  • Minimal exposure to weather disruptions: Our process isn’t dependent on sunshine or open-air evaporation, so we can operate year-round, meaning fewer delays, more consistency and less risk.

In short, we use modern desalination and crystallisation technologies to minimise chemical use, manage brine effectively, produce freshwater and recover valuable salts. This is all done to create local jobs, enhance community and agricultural outcomes for the region.
